Playing games with people's lives is something of a "fine" art for the demon dentist of Harley Street, Ressie Reyes Macaraeg.
It has now shown to have been taken to a new level with the news just discovered that she was made bankrupt in London at the end of November last year.
This was only disclosed yesterday in the West London County Court in Hammersmith when one of Macaraeg's victims attended a hearing where Macaraeg was being sued for £4,000. She [Macaraeg] did not appear but sent the judge a letter saying she could not attend (for unspecified reasons) and disclosing that there had been a bankruptcy petition made against her. The judge in this case informed the claimant/victim that he would order the claim against Macaraeg made by default.

This was then revealed to have been brought by a British finance company, Lombard, against Macaraeg as far back as June last year. The hearing was at the end of November and there was only the one creditor. The full details are below.
Macaraeg obviously kept this very quiet, now it is for her victims to contact the Official Receiver, the details are highlighted in bold below. Don't bother contacting Lombard as they are a creditor themselves. When contacting the receiver, the main reference points to use are highlighted in bold and underlined below; essentially the name, address and case number.
It certainly also appears that Macaraeg has not disclosed her full liabilities to the Receiver. This is in itself an offense. As was shown in a previous article, - Filipino Dentist In London's Harley Street Sued Over Work Permits - several victims applied to the county courts to try to get their money back. As the Official Receiver has confirmed to Balita Pinoy, there was only one creditor disclosed at the hearing in November. As can be seen from her response, this was dated on the 5th July 2011 and should have been disclosed, as should the other many claims from her victims who wanted their money back. The petition to have her made bankrupt was filed on the 2nd June 2011 with the full hearing not taking place till the 30th November 2011, plenty of time for disclosure.
She also appears to have concealed her address from the receiver, as the notice only gives the 127 Harley Street address which was that of her business, and not her home address at 8c West Cromwell Road, London SW5 9QJ.
There is also the matter of assets.
She is known to have bought at least one high-end condo (12 million pesos) in Fort Bonifacio.
What she has done with the rest of the estimated 2 million pounds she took off her victims since March 2010 is anyone's guess.
For those trying to contact Macaraeg, her office/surgery in Harley Street has now been abandoned by her, and the phones no longer work. The landline at her home address appears to have been cut just before Christmas, but her husband David's phone, 07957 192207 still appears to be operational. He may know how to contact her. Especially as his business website - http://www.nettrex.net/ - still shows the West Cromwell Road address but that the landline number for his business (the home landline number for Macaraeg) has now been removed from the site.
The British General Dental Council have put in motion a fitness to practice case against Macaraeg for acting and operating as a dentist when she is in fact only a nurse.
URGENT UPDATE - The Insolvency Service have requested that all people who wish to register as creditors should write in by post or by email giving the reference number 3570 of 2011 and the name Ressie Macaraeg to Official Receiver: T Neale 21, Bloomsbury Street, London, WC1B 3SS or by email LondonA.OR@insolvency.gsi.gov.uk
A spokeman for the Insolvency Service told Balita Pinoy that they have already had many enquiries by phone Friday morning 6 Jan and are telling everyone to write in as they cannot handle the flood of calls. It is also important to register as a creditor with them as an automatic discharge would be granted after one year otherwise.
