Gladys Canal along with Joanna Bartolabac and Aisah Talip who have set up another "ring" offering visas and jobs

Gladys Canal, Ressie Reyes Macaraeg's right hand woman and recruiter, has been difficult to get hold of lately. A lot of her former "clients" would like to discuss recouping the monies they have paid for non-existent visas.

Well Balita Pinoy can happily say that the elusive Gladys will be appearing in person at a court just north of London, Watford in fact.

She is due to attend Watford County Court at 2pm Monday 19th December.

The case involves a dispute with a college she attended on an NVQ training course. She is claiming they owe her money as she has stated she paid for a course and did not attend. The college concerned are defending the action stating that they offered her a later course, but not a refund as she was not prevented by them from attending. Hence Monday's afternoon hearing in front of a judge.

The merits of the case will not be determined until the judge hears the case and evaluates the evidence.

But if she wins the case, no doubt she will be happy to share the proceeds with the very many victims of her and Macaraeg's Ocean Care Recruitment Agency. That is those who have not been deported as they failed to get visas that were promised for £3,700 - £4,000.

Then there are the victim's of Canal's own little circle which appears to have been separate from her activities at 127 Harley Street. That is with her cohorts Joanna Bartolabac and Aisah Talip aka Aisah Millar Abdullah (and "Iron Lady" as she likes to be known).

Canal, Bartolabac and Talip have been running a visa promising scheme charging people £5,500 claiming they can get Certificates of Sponsorship allowing Tier 4 visa holders to transfer to Tier 2 visas as well jobs. This is illegal as they are not registered with the Offices of the Immgration Services Commissioner (OISC) as well as charging job applicants fees.

Both Talip, Bartolabac and Canal have an intriguing past in that they all had connections through a college where Canal was a student and Talip & Bartolabac were employed as assessors.

It is alleged that Bartolabac, who lives in Luton, introduced students to the college for a fee, then lured the same students away to another college; probably for a second fee. She is herself a co-defendant in a suit being brought by the college as they have said they suffered heavy losses over the fees. Bartolabac is reputed to have been involved in a recruitment operation in Cebu along with her sister, and did indeed bring over to the UK several NVQ students from PHL.

Talip is similarly accused of underhand tricks while at the college, leaving to end up as the registered care manager of a nursing home in Dorking in Surrey. Talip is not a Filipina, she actually comes from Brunei.

Both Talip and Bartolabac are the subject of complaints from people who have lost money over non-existent visas and jobs. When Talip became aware of Balita Pinoy investigating these activities, she attempted to threaten the applicants, claiming she was still in Brunei, but would take court action against the claimants. When pressed, the documents of some applicants were returned by Royal Mail Special Delivery. How this was achieved from Brunei was not explained.

The money is something the applicants are still waiting to have returned.

It is known that Talip is back in the UK, although the nursing home she is supposed to work at always states that she is not in attendance, although she did attend the homes Christmas party on the 4th of December.

Bartolabac contacted Balita Pinoy to arrange a meeting at which she said she would "Provide evidence of the other's guilt". She never followed through with this meeting.

We also invited Canal to give her side of the story; she agreed to call back later however we are still waiting for the call.

Talip was contacted by email but did not respond.

What is patently obvious is that just like the demon dentist of Harley Street, others see the opportunities to rip off vulnerable people of thousands of pounds. And go for it.

It is still linger in my ear...a "DEVIL'S LAUGH"...for an insult to me when i reason out about my visa in which you and ressie handled! Well, i told you may God bless u! Now the bad karma has come and expect more,,, specially when it come to your child...! You fed her from the money of other people whom u mislead and ruined their future! Letter to the editor of Balita Pinoy, I feel that I must respond to your article on Ocean Recruitment Agency 127 Harley Street, run by Ressie Macaraeg. It is my understanding that there was a close team of Filipino staff employed by Ressie. All the members of staff were Glory Mae Abarrita, Melanie (surname unknown), Love Calamba and Gladys Canal. According to sources Glory Mae, Melanie and Love were receiving £300 a week cash in hand. They were also getting free food, accommodation, transportation (i.e. taxis everywhere) and also they were eating in the best restaurants, staying in 4 star hotels when they traveled with Ressie. They were also members in one of the top leisure clubs in London (David Llyods- Gym, Health and Fitness Club) address 116 Cromwell Road London SW7 4XR. For 18 months they were enjoying the PERKS OF THE JOB, so why are they coming out now against Ocean Recruitment Agency? They were receiving £300 a week for 18 months cash in hand, do the maths??? They were part of the fraud for 18 months and all of a sudden they are the victims. As for Gladys Canal(agents right hand) was receiving approximately £500 per applicant. All of the above mentioned, in their own way were part of the scam.

I've been following the RESSIE MACARAEG-Ocean Recruitment Agency SAGA with interest. What really amazes me is why all the UNFORTUNATE FILIPINOS and other NATIONALITIES who got caught up in the recruitment SCAM do not report the case at Westminster POLICE STATION (close to Harley St.where she used to operate from) Each applicant must file their grievances/complaints to the police station,THEN and only THEN will CHARGES BE MADE that there's a proof of the SCAM.SO FILIPINOS PLEASE GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER, STOP TALKING AND DO SOMETHING IF YOU WANT JUSTICE, DONT BE AFRAID TO COME FORWARD. hello to all!!!This is the REAL Mildred..whatever has been stated to mildred from the previous comment were all true, just the way of transcribing is not me.I had enough of that Gladys Canal, shes a devil!!I had witness all her lies and i am so unfortunate to know such a very lowly person..she is a gold digger, shes too proud of herself and always bragging about how rich she is..my heart really sunk when those people whom I know are children of God believed her despite all our miseries but I know God will never allow this horrible things to continue without a punishment..It is really a shame that filipinos like gladys and ressie are a total nightmare..If you guys wanting to destroy gladys go to their church in burnt oak ( infront of the filipino store; it is called London Praise Community)there you can tell your testimonies and try to ask help from their pastors..the People in the church believed all the lies gladys are making..i am now back in the Phillipines and am having a hard time to make gladys life miserable, so if u can retaliate for us it wud be much appreciated..be strong guys!!
