FIRE DESTROYS MATI COCONUT PLANT

MATI CTY - Four fire engines tackled a fire which almost destroyed a plant in Mati. 

The Coconut Husk Processing Plant in Dahican, here in this city was hit by a mystery fire.

According to Board Member Erik N. Rabat (2nd District, Davao Oreintal), owner of the plant, the fire started in the back of the plant just after 10:30 am Wednesday a few minutes after a dump truck passed by.

Fire experts were at the scene trying ascertain the exact cause of the damage as well as the cause of the fire.

According to the chief of the fire service, it took until 3.00pm to bring the blaze under control.

Rabat estimated it would take a month to bring the processing plant back into full operation.
