An Italian sex therapist known throughout the world for distributing free condoms to promote safe sex has visited Cebu to expand his advocacy.
But Dr. Giuseppe Cirillo, also known as “Mr. Condom,” said he respects the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church and that his condom advocacy is mainly to promote safe sex and protect the sexually active from Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) that causes AIDS.
Cirillo, a Roman Catholic, said he has great respect for and strong faith in the Church’s teaching.
But he said more people are inflicted with HIV, and it is everyone’s obligation to educate the public about safe sex.
Cirillo said he respects the stand of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) on the issue of contraceptives. He said contraceptives like condoms should not be used to promote promiscuity and immorality. FULL STORY
