The proposal is going before the Althingi 16th February.
PATHOLOGIST SAYS 30% OF HERBAL MEDICINES ARE DEADLY
A University of Adelaide forensic pathologist has sounded a worldwide warning of the potential lethal dangers of herbal medicines if taken in large quantities, injected, or combined with prescription drugs.
St John's Wort, a widely used herbal medicine and according to Aussie pathologist Roger Byard, dangerous
A paper by Professor Roger Byard published in the US-based Journal of Forensic Sciences outlines the highly toxic nature of many herbal substances, which a large percentage of users around the world mistakenly believe are safe. (A link to download the complete paper is included)
"There's a false perception that herbal remedies are safer than manufactured medicines, when in fact many contain potentially lethal concentrations of arsenic, mercury and lead," Professor Byard says.

The Press Photographers of the Philippines (PPP) mourn with a heavy heart the sudden and untimely passing of Press Secretary Cerge Remonde.
Surely, Secretary Remonde is a big loss for us at the PPP and the world of journalism as a whole. Since he took over as Press Secretary he had been very supportive of our projects that were all designed to uplift the living conditions and protect the interests of the photo journalists especially the members of the PPP.
Despite being criticized often for his stand on various issues he never wavered in his commitment in protecting and defending press freedom in the country.
On behalf of the PPP, we wish to reiterate our condolences to his family and loved ones. Sec. Remonde will be missed. Paalam! Gerardo N. CarualPresident
