CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga, Jan. 30 (PIA) -- Civil Service Commission (CSC) Regional Office 3 is now accepting applications for the first Career Service Professional and Sub-professional Paper and Pencil Tests of 2012 which is scheduled on May 27. (Phone numbers below relate to Central Luzon, links at the bottom give details for entire Philippines)
CSC Central Luzon information officer Diana Henson said, "Exams are open to all Filipino citizens aged 18 years old and above who are of good moral character, have neither been found guilty to an offense involving moral turpitude nor have been dishonorably dismissed from any civilian position in the government and have not taken the same level of CSC examination in less than three months."

Henson stressed that "passers of the Bar exams and Professional Regulation Commission-administered tests as well as those who graduated with honors need not apply as they are granted with automatic eligibility."
The examinations shall consist of the specific subject areas. For the Professional exam test shall have parts in English and Filipino. Subjects include vocabulary, grammar and correct usage, paragraph organization, reading comprehension, analogy, logic and numerical reasoning. For the Sub-professional exam, test shall also cover parts in English and Filipino. Subjects shall cover vocabulary, grammar and correct usage, paragraph organization, reading comprehension, spelling, clerical operations and numerical reasoning.
There will likewise be a General Information test for both professional and sub-professional exams which covers areas such as the Philippine Constitution, the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees (R.A.6713) and Peace and Human Rights Issues and Concepts and Environment Management and Protection.
Exams will simultaneously be conducted in over 30 venues around the archipelago including the cities of San Fernando in Pampanga and Cabanatuan in Nueva Ecija.
An applicant must obtain a passing grade of at least 80 percent in order to earn eligibility which is the key for a stable job in the government.
