SEARCH FOR 2011 BAGONG BAYANI
The search for the 2011 Bagong Bayani Awards (BBA) is now going on and all interested parties are encouraged to submit their nominations before the deadline set on the 31st of July 2011.
The BBA is a major program of the Bagong Bayani Foundation, Inc.(BBFI), a non-stock, non-profit organization formed to promote recognition and appreciation of the role of Overseas Filipino Workers. The Awards is aimed at paying tribute to the country's outstanding OFWs for their significant efforts in fostering goodwill among peoples of the world, enhancing the image of the Filipino as a competent and responsible worker and contributing to the nation's foreign exchange earnings. The first Awards was held in 1984 and is now being held every two (2) years.
There are basically five (5) Awards categories, namely: Bagong Bayani for Outstanding Employee, Bagong Bayani for Community and Social Service, Bagong Bayani for Culture and Arts, Capt. Gregorio Oca Achievement Award, and Blas F. Ople Award para sa "Natatanging Bagong Bayani".
The specific criteria for each of the categories as well as the Nominations forms and other selection procedures may be downloaded from the POEA website at http://www.poea.gov.ph/.

NOTICE OF REGISTRATION AND ELECTION
TO ALL FILIPINO CITIZENS
Notice is hereby given that under Republic Act No. 9189, otherwise known as "The Overseas Absentee Voting Act of 2003", all citizens of the Philippines abroad, not otherwise disqualified by law, at least eighteen ( 18 ) years of age on the day of the election, and who are registered overseas absentee voters with approved application to vote in absentia, may vote for Senators and Party-List Representatives. For this purpose, all qualified Filipinos citizens not registered as voters under Republic Act No. 8189, otherwise known as "The Voters Registration Act of 1996", (the system of continuing registration) shall file an application for registration while those who are already registered under the said Act shall file an application for certification.
For purposes of the May 13, 2013 elections, the filing of applications for registration/certification and transfer of registration records shall be filed at the Post or other designated registration areas from October 31, 2011 to October 31, 2012.
The 30-day voting period will commence on April 13, 2013 until 3:00 o'clock in the afternoon (Philippine time) of May 13, 2013 at Philippine Embassies or Consulates. (The time for voting to be announced later)
