The days of outsourcing companies having to sift through thousands of applications could be over due to a new competency test devised by the Business Processing Association of the Philippines (BPAP).
The BPAP National Competency Test (BNCT), launched yesterday, will gauge an applicant’s verbal and numerical learning ability, English proficiency, perceptual speed and accuracy, computer literacy and service orientation. It is designed for college students and career shifters wishing to join the business process outsourcing (BPO) industry.
Validation of the test began yesterday and will continue until April 5. Initial rollout is scheduled for April 12.
"The test will streamline the recruitment process of the industry. With the test, companies can now pre-select applicants who do well on the competencies they value and no longer have to do initial testing on so many applicants," BPAP CEO Oscar R. Sañez said in a press conference yesterday. FULL STORY
