Diwata an ancient boat, replica of the Butuan Balangay carbon dated 320 AD shadowed by Multi-Purpose Assault Craft (MPAC) of the Philippine Navy. The other picture has Rear Admiral Alexander Pama, Chief, Naval Forces Western Mindanao together with Col. Estilles, Marine Corp, Chief of Staff of NavForces-Western Mindanao.
The Balangays Diwata and Masawa took shelter at the Naval Forces facilities in Zamboanga for possible tsunami fall-out although Zamboanga City is too far southwest and away from the direct path of the tsunami caused by the 8.8 earthquake from Chile.
They also took time out to make essential running repairs.
