The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Thursday proposed the adjustment of towing fees for stalled vehicles as it vowed to continuously look for ways at resolving the issues raised by motorists and truckers’ group.
MMDA Chairman Oscar Inocentes made the move following the complaints raised by the Confederation of Truckers Association (CTAP) against disproportionate towing rates imposed upon heavy vehicles and alleged abuses by local traffic enforcers.
“I’m looking at possibly lowering the towing rates as I, too, have found it burdensome for the trucking sectors and some motorists,” Chairman Inocentes said during the Metro Manila Council meeting at the MMDA central office in Makati City.
Several mayors, including Jaime Medina of Pateros, Sherwin Gatchalian of Valenzuela and Tobias Tiangco of Navotas, and other representatives of Metro Manila local government units attended the monthly Metro Manila Council (MMC) meeting. FULL STORY
