RP's POWER RESERVES THINNING OUT

Rotating brownouts continue to threaten the country as power reserves become thinner and thinner.

Power reserves in the Luzon grid are less than 300 megawatts (MWs) while in the Visayas and Mindanao grids are on the negative.

Based on the power monitoring conducted by the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP), as of today, Luzon has only 269 MWs reserves, out of the 6,693 available capacity after its peak load hit 6,424 MWs. FULL DETAILS
